About Godfrey CNC Manufacturing, Inc

A little background

Nikki FerrisGodfrey CNC Manufacturing Inc. has evolved a lot since first opening its doors in 2001: The company began as a family partnership between Nikki Ferris and her parents, Mike and Kim Ferris. The then Godfrey Enterprises was just a twinkle in Nikki’s eyes. In search of a path that offered success through hard work, while also providing the challenges they needed to keep themselves on their toes, the partners purchased a  48” x 96” CNC Router which consumed just a small corner of a garage. Godfrey CNC had the intent to produce various parts and pieces for Salem Millwork & Truss Inc., Mike & Kim’s wholesale manufacturing company. Godfrey CNC started out doing just that – producing thousands of wood components for the medical and camper manufacturing industry – as well as some custom stair parts, and dabbling in various v-carved and vinyl decal sign projects.

With a few years, a lot of trial and error, a few splinters, and some long nights under their belts, business was increasing. Godfrey CNC began to do a great deal of work with multiple plastic companies, printing companies, and point-of-purchase display companies, along with many companies in a variety of other trades. Now in a larger area and with enough work to keep one CNC Machine running full-time, there was an eagerness to do more! Godfrey CNC purchased another, larger CNC Routing machine. This time with the intent to incorporate 5’ x 8’ and 6’ x 8’ sheet sizes, producing better yields and lowering costs, they bought a 72” x 96” CNC Router, which doubled their manufacturing capabilities.

By 2009, Godfrey CNC was dealing with more than just woods. They now manufacture plastics, foams, solid surfaces, and thin mill aluminum, and business was growing daily. Nikki purchased the company from Mike & Kim Ferris, incorporated, and changed the name to Godfrey CNC Manufacturing Inc., making her sole owner and president of an ever-evolving company.
